Use you car or truck as a rolling billboard for your cause
you can find very cost effective sites for making stickers and signs for your car

You dont have to spend big bucks to help your cause, use the VAST world of the internet

 
I joined a "meet-up group" http://www.meetup.com that was being run by our local AZ director for the HSUS (Humane Society of the U.S, from there she supplied me with lots of literature on many animal issues, including puppy mills, and I also found good information online, and from other rescue groups and compiled all of this to set up a table at our local adoption events, I make this information available to anyone who wants it for free, I also set up my table at the local library "FREE SPEECH ZONES" when its cooler weather in AZ   

Using the internet-scrapbooking materials and a giant board, I made a very graphic board with pictures of some of the common injuries of mill dogs, and a list of all puppy mill terms and their meanings
